Report: New Divisions for Next Season

The Rangers are going to see a lot of New Jersey and Boston, not so much Toronto and Montreal

As we get closer to the reported January 13th start date for the 2021 NHL season, we also have reports for the new divisions that will limit travel and, hopefully, keep everyone safe as the COVID-19 pandemic rages on. Keep in mind, this realignment comes with a 56 game season.

Some highlights; We came so close to a reformed Southeast Division as Tampa Bay, the Florida Panthers, and Carolina Hurricanes all reunite and welcome new comers Columbus Blue Jackets, Nashville Predators, Detroit Red Wings, Chicago Blackhawks, and Minnesota Wild all into the fold. The nation of Canada might spontaneously combust from all the hot takes that an all Canadian division will produce. The Tampa Bay Lightning getting 29% of their games against the Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks is some kind of treat. Finally, I hope everyone enjoys what I’m gonna call the “NBC Sports Division” as the Blueshirts will get a lot of Boston, Pittsburgh, and Washington next season.

We are all one step closer to a new hockey season, let’s hope we can all get there and through it safely and healthy.
