Report: Rangers re-sign Steven Fogarty
One more RFA down, eight more to go
According to CapFriendly.com, the New York Rangers have re-signed Hartford Wolf Pack forward Steven Fogarty.

Fogarty accepted his qualifying offer from the Rangers. The 25 year old will again be a restricted free agent after this current one-year deal expires. It goes without saying that Fogarty is a little old to be considered a true prospect at this point. The Notre Dame alumni was a third round pick of the Rangers in the 2011 Draft, going 72nd overall. He’s a big, two-way forward with limited offensive upside.
Fogarty made his NHL debut with the Rangers on April 7. He has played two full seasons in the AHL with the Wolf Pack, where he has put up back-to-back 20 point efforts. If nothing else, Fogarty will continue to provide the Wolf Pack with a solid option down the middle in the bottom-six. But with that being said, the 2018-19 season is almost certainly “make or break” for the 6-foot-3 forward.

With Fogarty signed, the Rangers are now down to eight restricted free agents who need new contracts. The most notable of those eight are Kevin Hayes, Brady Skjei, Jimmy Vesey, and Ryan Spooner.
