Skjei Joins Team USA Roster for World Championship
The young American blueliner will represent his country once again.

Along with Dylan Larkin and Luke Glendening from the Detroit Red Wings, Rangers rookie defender Skjei will be joining the US Men's National Team that will be competing in Russia for the World Championship and hoping to improve upon last year's bronze medal.

This is the third time Skjei will be representing the United States. A member of the New York Rangers this past season, Skjei helped the U.S. Men's National Under-18 Team claim gold at the 2012 IIHF Men's Under-18 World Championship in Helsinki, Finland, and Stockholm, Sweden, and also was a member of the 2014 U.S. National Junior Team.
Skjei will join a young American roster that currently has only one player in his thirties (Matt Hendricks). The American roster features some of the most promising young talent in the NHL and highly-touted prospect Auston Matthews who is expected to go first overall in the 2016 NHL Draft.
The American blue line is especially young. Skjei joins the ranks of Noah Hanifin, Jake McCabe, Connor Murphy, David Warsofsky, and Chris Wideman.

The Rangers' early exit from the playoffs has opened the door for this opportunity for Skjei and it appears he was eager to represent his country for the third time in international competition despite being just 22 years old.
