The New York Rangers, struggling mid-season, could benefit from the emotional drive of J.T. Miller, a former Ranger now with Vancouver. Amidst locker room drama in Vancouver, Miller's fiery spirit might be just what the Blueshirts need to reignite their season.

It's a matter of trust when it comes to this core. And we've already seen them quit when things got hard. A few wins here and there doesn't change that, or change the right thing to do with this season: sell.

Kaliyev was and continues to be a high-level prospect with an elite shot and a rare shoot-first mentality. If the Rangers were anticipating clearing house, at least partially, grabbing Kaliyev for free was a tremendous idea.

Kaliyev, placed on waivers by the Kings, presenting an opportunity for the Rangers to add talent easily and cheaply. His acquisition could be a strategic move as the Rangers look to reshape their roster and move other pieces out.
